A Rant

That's it.
I'm fed up.
You won't do that
anymore.

Gotcha.
Kicking and screaming,
over my lap
you go.

Struggling hand
subdued,
pants come down
right now.

Scream,
no mercy.
Wail,
to no avail.

My hand
stings hard
as I flatten
your butt.

My anger
is harder
than your pleas.
The hairbrush!

resounds
satisfying
my needs
from you.

Your legs
flailing
show I'm
getting through.

I stop
to feel
the hurt
I've done.

If only
you wouldn't
do this
to me.

I wrote this as a description of an adult pushed beyond endurance by an unruly child and resorting to force. Physically overpowering and punishing in anger communicates with young children at a very deep level when rational re-direction of their behavior is not, or cannot, be heeded.
